"What is this place? WHEN is it?..."
Experiment time! I've been trying to improve both character and environment rendering, so why not both in the same piece? Something I'm trying desperately to get away from are my regular crutches - Soft Brush, Fog, Atmospherics, Bloom - to hide parts of the composition or design that don't work, or too clumsily guide the eye. I feel my shapes and edges suffer a great deal, so here I've tried to not use that at all. Instead working with the planes and depth, and to only add it here and there where it makes sense to. I think I made some progress on this image with it, so hopefully you do too! Enjoy :)
